Is calcite on amethyst rare?
This is an old classic, and very rare on the market.
Native copper specimens which have been smelted and slightly polished making them smooth to touch and enhancing their metallic lustre, these copper specimens were obtained from the smelting process of copper from the famous Keweenaw native copper ore deposits of Michigan. U.S.A.Dogtooth calcite mineral specimens collected from Jebel Saghro, Morocco. Dogtooth calcite is found in open spaces such as limestone caves, geodes and veins, that consists of large calcite crystals thought to resemble dogs’ teeth due to the ‘pointed’ crystal habit they form in.

Rhodolite garnets in quartz and mica schist matrix from Southern Norway exhibiting bright vibrant pink coloured garnets in a white quartz and metallic grey mica schist with a start contrast of colours, these minerals specimens are available in 3 sizes and come supplied in a card tray with a label.
Cobalt calcite or cobaltoan calcite collected from the Agoudal Mine in the Bou Azzer District of Morocco. Cobalt calcite is a variety of calcite which owes its beautiful pink or purple colour to small amounts of the accessory element cobalt.

Specimens of geodes containing both quartz and dogtooth calcite crystals from Morocco. These samples are ideal for teaching about geode formation but would also make an excellent addition to any mineral collection. Specimens are supplied in a white card tray with an information label.
Quartz geode mineral specimens, nodules lined with sparkly quartz crystals collected from the Sahara desert, Morocco. Bright white crystals which are vivid when set against a black backdrop, these specimens are ideal for young collectors, enthusiast as a gift or for those of you who want something different to display in a home or office. Available in various sizes and supplied in a card tray with an information label.Chalcedony mineral specimens from Morocco, the pieces belong to the quartz family of minerals and is very similar to carnelian, even having a waxy lustre, although it tends to have a botryoidal crystal habit. The pieces are blue, white, red and orange and available in various sizes, supplied in a card tray with an information label.

Tektite mineral specimens which were collected from Thailand, and have formed an irregular ‘tear drop’ shape. Each specimen measures 10 – 20mm approx in size. Radiometric dating gives an approximate age of 700,000 years old. Specimens are irregular in shape and are mainly black & opaque with a glassy lustre on fractured surfaces.
Blue lace agate mineral specimens of moderate size which clearly exhibit alternating bands of blue and white, the specimens come from Botswana and are excellent grade with minimal matrix on them. Formed through volcanic processes and the deposition of silica compounds in igneous rocks, these minerals are both important educationally and calming to look at.

Can calcite be found in geodes?
Most crystals are clear, white, amber, or brown. Excellent crystals of Indiana calcite can be found in museums all over the United States. Calcite is also abundant in Indiana’s geodes. Perfect crystals of many shapes and colors are found in many geodes.
Honey calcite mineral specimens from Mexico which exhibit a yellow to orange colouration due to impurities of iron from the mineral hematite. The specimens are crystalline in nature and can exhibit a rough rhombic form as expected of calcites. They are translucent, letting some but not all light through, which gives them an eye catching ‘glow’. The samples are ideal for enthusiasts, hobbyists and collectors and are available in various sizes. Each piece will come supplied in a card tray with a label.Milky quartz mineral specimens from Iveland, Norway, collected by staff, these samples have a fine crystalline texture and are in a massive form. Translucent, they have a pale grey, milky white colour and are sometimes known as snow quartz or simply quartz. Available in 3 sizes and supplied in a card tray with a label.
