Efter listframgångarna med återutgivningarna av Noice två första album är det nu dags för ännu ett Noice-album från Wild Kingdom, även denna gång i en exklusiv begränsad upplaga. Detta dubbelalbum har titeln Först. Sist. För alltid. och innehåller bland annat Noice första studioinspelning från 23 maj 1979, med råa och opolerade versioner av låtarna som senare blev det legendariska debutalbumet Tonårsdrömmar. Dessutom ingår Noice sista studioinspelning med sångaren Hasse Carlsson, vilka gjordes 1995. Dessa 10 ”bortglömda” låtar från albumet Vild vild värld är chockerande starka. Något som lär glädja gruppens många fans extra mycket är två unika bonusspår: Demos med originalsångaren Hasse Carlssons allra sista inspelningar, gjorda 1998 och 1999. Allt började väldigt enkelt. Jag var lite mindre trött på mig själv än vanligt och hade en låtidé där det fanns en liten gnista av magi. Jag skrev en text med intentionen att sjunga själv för första gången på flera år. Det var vansinnigt roligt. Det bästa med allt var att min röst lät annorlunda. Stadig men mjuk och luftig. Inte alls som jag mindes den. Ett stort plus i min bok. Det var som om ett Frankensteins monster av konstruerat självförtroende och hävdelsebehov plötsligt upphört att existera. Jag skrev klart, arrade, spelade in alla instrument, sjöng och producerade den under två dagar. Låten gjorde mig både glad och vemodig i all sin enkelhet men insikten som följde var inte odelat positiv: Detta är inledningen på ett eget album. Som jag i min enfald lovat dyrt och heligt att aldrig göra. Men det fanns något i historien som berättas i den där första låten. Något som var rakt på sak, som lyste upp det där området i tankarna där saker man glömt fast man inte borde gömmer sig. Jag satte upp ett tunt regelverk kring arbetet: Det ska bara ske när jag har 100% feeling. Det ska vara kul. Inga krav. I min egen takt. I min egen studio. Allt ska vara sant, så långt det ens är möjligt, eller i alla fall ett ärligt försök att tränga genom cigarettröksdimman som döljer ens förflutna. Sist men inte minst: Undvik sökta metaforer och liknelser (det går väl fortfarande sådär). Jag bestämde mig för att färdigställa fem låtar utan att prata om det eller låta någon annan lyssna. Mest för att komma in i flödet och undvika att reagera på kommentarer utifrån. Även åsikter i all välmening kan få en så skör liten fågel som en låt att flyga huvudet före in i altandörrsfönstret. I ärlighetens namn så är det också oemotståndligt att dröja sig kvar i en hemmabyggd drömvärld och bara få äga den ensam en liten stund. Inget blir någonsin som man tänkt sig, och den här samlingen sånger är inget undantag. De låter inte som det jag föreställde mig när jag började. Men jag har verkligen försökt låta tonerna och texterna ta de vägar de ville utan att blanda in hjärnan i processer den inte har med att göra. Så de 11låtar som gick i mål är helt enkelt de som träffade mig hårdast. Det är bara att ödmjukt kapitulera inför faktum. Det är väl det här jag gillar. Idag. Hoppas ni gillar det också. A pioneer leads the way and establishes new standards for everyone else to follow. This feat is extremely rare in the world of music. If a visionary does happen to come along, they record one or two records and then burn out and fade away. Others forget their roots and change radically, effectively destroying their groundbreaking past. Neither of these scenarios applies to singer/guitarist/songwriter Chuck Schuldiner, who has come to define the word ”pioneer.” His band, Death, which started back in the early 0s, is one of the most respected and innovative bands in the metal scene. They influenced a whole range of bands and defined the parameters of the death metal movement. Beyond the band”s importance, Chuck himself was one of the most respected people in the business. In his long career as the ”godfather” of death metal, he never stopped being creative and always had the knack for writing classic songs. Chuck strove to create his own sound, regardless of the consequences. His undeniable will and vision confounded the metal scene, but the few who saw the genius in his music understood – like all pioneers, Chuck was way ahead of the times.

These recordings, some of which went on to be the basis for early Skinny Puppy releases like Back and Forth, Bites, and Remission, are finally released as part of the famous Back and Forth series, through Toronto-based Artoffact Records. Brap and Forth Vol. 8 is a collection of a dozen demos, out-takes, and braps by cEvin Key, recorded between 1983 and 1985. The collection finally gives us a glimpse into the birth of Skinny Puppy, those first experiments that would blossom and contort into the visionary sound of the band”s first albums. A dozen Bites and Remission-era demos are presented here, transferred from cEvin Key”s own archive, restored, and remastered. Three of the recordings feature Wilhelm Schroeder, aka Bill Leeb, founder and singer of Front Line Assembly, and of course an early Skinny Puppy band-member. The release is bookended by two other demos from later periods, perhaps to emphasize the centrality that the earlier material represents. Artoffact Records will be releasing Brap and Forth Vol. 8 on CD, vinyl, and digital formats. There are several versions of the vinyl: an audiophile black edition and a limited yellow vinyl edition will receive wider release. Kommun2 is pleased to announce the release of the eponymous album from Swedish act Limbo on March 20, 2011. The album consists of seven songs which were recorded and produced during two lengthy recording sessions in the summer 2010 at The Dude studios. The material was mixed and produced by Karle Ödegaard. The musical palate of the band is diverse and multifaceted stretching from bellowing accordion to jazzy guitars and world music inspired percussion. Guest performances include a hauntingly beautiful saw and an iridescent string section. Genre wise the repertoire meanders through a musical landscape of looming folky rock tunes to lamenting bossa nova pieces. The sphere of music also brings you up-beat gypsy grooves with cha-cha-cha rhythms and epic chanson composition. There is a melancholic streak to the music, yet ultimately vibrantly optimistic and life affirming.
