However, limited empirical evidence exists to substantiate a positive relationship between trust and performance of IJVs. Also, there is a limited understanding of the antecedents of trust. N2 – The literature on social entrepreneurship continues to grow. This research is novel and vibrant, yet erratic and fragmented. In this chapter I first organize the burgeoning social-entrepreneurship literature into two streams: one conceptual stream concerned with defining social entrepreneurship; a second management- oriented stream concerned with the establishment and development of social ventures. Within the management-oriented research stream, three units of analysis can be further distinguished: the invidivudal, the organizational, and the inter- organizational levels. This organization of the literature highlights the need to develop a social approach to the study of the methods, strategies and notions used by social entrepreneurial initiatives in their work towards social change. Next, the essay takes a first step in this direction, suggesting a matrix for analysing the congruency between the social change aimed at by social entrepreneurial initiatives and the methods they use to ignite it.

In addition, CBS hosts special academic initiatives such as the Danish National Research Foundation centre FRIC, which is focused on financial frictions, and our World Class Research Environments. Against this background, the Nordic Council of Ministers decided in autumn 2013 to appoint a working group to map initiatives to support social entrepreneurship and social innovation in the Nordic countries. The main purpose of this mapping is to increase knowledge of initiatives to support social entrepreneurship and social innovation in the Nordic Region in the work to include disadvantaged groups in employment and society. This report presents the results from the mapping and the working group’s recommendations for further follow-up.

Background: Small and large cities across the Nordics need to become more sustainable quickly. A sustainable development that is socially inclusive, environmentally friendly, and economically feasible. Research has shown us that we need to collaborate across sectors to succeed. In this session, we will share a new form of open source infrastructure that makes it easier for people and organizations to come together and create the change we need.

Det blir en interaktiv workshop där vi diskuterar huruvida det behövs en definition och hur en sådan i så fall bör vara formulerad för att bidra till att stärka de sociala företagen och deras marknad. Background: According to the European Commission and several recent research reports Sweden lacks a functioning financial eco-system to support start-ups and development within the social economy sector. The conversation will be followed by comments from professionals within the field of social entrepreneurship and social innovation in Sweden. The question raised is: How have we and how will we continue to empower social entrepreneurship and social innovation in order to strengthen our society’s resilience and ability to innovate for a sustainable development?

This session focuses on how Ashoka’s and Reach for Change’s social entrepreneurs dealt with the crisis and how support networks around them were mobilized. We discuss how the pandemic might influence the social innovation field to evolve moving forward and look at trends of impact driven changemakers on the rise.

Denna session lyfter frågan hur en lokal valuta kan användas som ett verktyg för att levandegöra ytor i en stad under dygnets alla timmar.This seminar highlights the joint work on a type 2 diabetes prevention project by a region (Region Stockholm), a pension and life insurance company (Skandia) and a bank (SEB) to improve public health through a new type of bond with a unique financing model, where the return is linked to how successful the project is.

Background: Language is key in any type of crisis, be it war, the refugee crisis, disease spread, intercultural misunderstandings, and other man-made or natural disasters. An important issue for humanitarian organizations is finding the right support in the right language pairs at the time of a pandemic or a crisis. Even before the medical help, the information in the right language is crucial. While the Swedish health agency and many other organizations are increasingly creating websites & leaflets with important information in several languages, we still haven’t fully exploited the wealth of language richness available to us at our doorsteps. Whether it is during the Covid-19 or the post-Covid world, a bilingual mind has access to information and ways of doing things in different ways. Language contact enriches our world with diverse types of experiences. In Sweden, according to the Institute of Language and folklore (ISOF), 150 migrant languages are spoken besides the five minority languages and Swedish. An adult who can speak several languages can understand and bridge cultural divides within our cities. We need more contact between different language communities within our cities and Nordic to bring communities closer and to enrich our experiences.Digitala vägar för kommunikation och socialiseringen är ju på många sätt inget märkvärdigt för barn, men den här sessionen sätter fokus på möjligheter och utmaningar som uppstått för barn och unga till följd av den snabba digitala omställning vårt samhälle gjort under 2020.I Sverige är ungefär 50 procent av alla sjukskrivningar relaterade till psykisk ohälsa, och enligt OECD bedöms kostnaden för psykisk ohälsa i Sverige uppgå till minst 200 miljarder kronor årligen. Studier som sammanställts av Folkhälsomyndigheten i Sverige visar dessutom att det psykiska välbefinnandet har försämrats som en konsekvens av pandemin. God hälsa och välbefinnande är listat som ett av FN:s globala mål i Agenda 2030, eftersom det är en central förutsättning för samhällens hållbara utveckling.
